I swear, as a pagan nothing hurts my heart more than when people mix these two up. Even worse is when people BLEND them and believe that they are a pagan while worshipping Satan, and I take that as an insult to the pagan deities. Paganism is not about evil, darkness, wickedness, and pain, it's not like that at all. This misconception has existed ever since the church first started persecuting pagans because they wanted to control more land and more people to make more profit. To continue to believe it to be true when it was a lie constructed to destroy a way of life is the worst kind of ignorance.

It's...it's not the same thing. It's not the same damn thing, seriously.

Generally, Paganism is a BLANKET TERM for non-Abrahamic religions. Satanism and Luciferianism can be considered pagan, especially if it's eclectic in nature.
Don't be ignorant or bigoted. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SATANISM. You think it hurts to be called a Satanist? Think about BEING a Satanist in a world where your religion is beaten down with uneducated hate.

I myself am not a Satanist, but I AM a Pagan, and believe we should be striving for equality in our Pagan community. Do some research before you mindlessly bash other people's spiritual paths. Thank you.

Thank you. The thing is:
1-Pagans are NOT evil
2-Satanists are Not evil, they just worship a supposedly evil being
3-Goths are not evil, or Satanic
4-Sadistic people are not Satanic
5-If bad people go to hell, why would Satan punish them?

THANK. YOU. GODDESS'. I can't believe that some people would actually mix something up like that. And btw, no pun intended, but satanism isn't really all it's cracked up to be. If you take the time to get to know them, some satanist are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. And all religions are more alike than you think they would be. Like I said...No Pun Intended..

Paganism is older than Satanism - They stole our symbol!!!

The Church has a lot of bad history against Pagans - the Witch trials was pretty horrendous and their march through Scandinavia region forcing their faith on others...a lot in which people forget how much pain and suffering the Church has caused and they like to cover that up.

i can see why people would get both confused, but really, i just know that the key difference is the pentagram. the way i remember it is that if the star is upside-down, it's satanic but if it's right side up, it's not an evil symbol. i work as a cashier, and so far, i've met a few customers that are either wicken, or pagan. i pointed that out both times because of the pentagrams they were wearing. when i asked the first customer about her penta, she was like, "thank you! at least someone knows the difference!" we both laughed, she told me a small bit of info on her beliefs, and i was just like, :iconimhappyplz: the whole time lol.

How does one become a pagan? I've always wondered...

Anyway, Satanism is just... kind of overrated and stupid. Almost as overrated and stupid as Christianity. Only, you know, with more killing young children and incest and all that shit.
