I hear a lot of couples talk about how they stick together because they think it's better for the kids to have both parents around, and as a child who grew up with parents like that...don't jump to that conclusion. All my life I've been dying for my parents to get divorced and live apart because when they're together all they do is fight. They say they love each other but it's obvious that it's a lie. My mom has told me she'd get a divorce if she had the money to support me and my brother on her own (she's unemployed and has been since my brother was born). I'd love to have divorced parents because they're at their best when they're not together and at their worst when they are.

So...just think about it. Would it be better for the kids to have mommy and daddy in the same house screaming at each other and throwing things all the time, or to be able to see them both when they're calm and collected and pleasant to be around?

I kinda agree. My dad and his family practically ran my mom into the ground and ruined my brother and my lives.(I dislike them so very much. >_>) My parents aren't officially divorced and don't live together right now. They're married with no romance pretty much.

My parents were together and stayed together for us (my brothers and I). It was miserable. The divorced a couple years ago and it was horrendous too. Both of them trying to get us against the other, or make us choose one over the other. They'd send each other mean rude etc texts and argue over phone calls... They finally stopped talking to each other altogether about six months ago and it's been wonderful.

With my parents it is bad either way.When they were together,they fought.Now that they are divorced,they still fight just as much,but this time over the phone -_-

My parents aren't officially divorced, but they have been separated since I was in my early teens and things just got so much better because of it.

i'm a daughter of a divorced couple and i can seriously vouch for that. each side of the family is happy now, there is minimal fighting, life is overall better for everyone.
